Do I need to pay in advance to book?
It depends on the doctor. HelloDr supports both advance (online) payment and pay-at-clinic, and the booking screen always tells you which one applies before you confirm — so there are never any surprises.
Advance payment
Many doctors — especially for online consultations — require payment when you book. This reserves your slot and is needed to start a video/chat consult on time. You can pay by card/wallet (e.g. JazzCash) or by bank transfer with proof upload. See Payments & Billing for every method.
Pay at the clinic
Some in-clinic doctors let you reserve a slot now and pay in person at your visit. The booking screen will clearly say "Pay at clinic" when this option is available.
Why advance payment for online visits?
Online consultations begin the moment your slot starts, so payment is confirmed upfront to guarantee the doctor's time is reserved exclusively for you. If a paid online consult can't go ahead — for example the doctor doesn't join — you're eligible for a refund per the doctor's policy.
Whatever the method, the exact fee is shown clearly before you confirm, in PKR. If you paid but your booking didn't appear, don't rebook immediately — see I paid but my booking didn't confirm first, as the payment is tracked and recoverable.
