The other person can't hear or see me — what now?
One-way audio or video is almost always a permission, mute, or connection issue — not a fault with the call itself. Run through this short list while staying in the room, and you'll usually be back to a full picture in moments.
If they can't hear you
- Check you're not muted — tap the microphone icon to unmute.
- Confirm the right microphone is selected in the call settings.
- If using Bluetooth earphones, make sure they're connected and chosen as the active mic.
If they can't see you
- Check your camera is on (tap the camera icon).
- Make sure no other app is currently using the camera.
- Try switching between front and back camera.
If quality is poor
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router or to an area with a stronger signal.
- Turn your camera off temporarily to prioritise clear audio.
- Refresh the page and rejoin the room.
