How do I chat with my doctor?
HelloDr includes secure, private messaging so you can chat with your doctor before, during or after a consultation — depending on what the doctor offers. It's perfect for quick follow-up questions, sharing a report, or clarifying instructions without booking a whole new visit.
Starting a chat
- Open Messages in your dashboard, or open a completed appointment and continue the conversation there.
- Type your message and send. You'll see when the doctor has read and replied.
What you can send
- Text questions about your symptoms or treatment.
- Photos and documents (e.g. an affected area or a previous report).
- Voice messages, where supported.
Good chat etiquette
- Keep questions clear and to the point so the doctor can help quickly.
- Remember doctors reply during their working hours — for emergencies, go to the nearest hospital.
- Never share passwords, OTPs or card details in chat — no genuine doctor or staff will ask for them.
Chat is private between you and your doctor, stored securely, and never visible to other users. New replies appear in near real-time and you'll be notified so you don't miss anything. If you need a deeper discussion or an examination, the doctor may suggest a follow-up appointment.
