My camera or microphone isn't working in a call
Most camera and microphone issues come down to permissions or another app holding the device, and they're usually fixed in under a minute. Try these in order — and remember you can keep the consultation going by chat while you sort it out.
1. Grant permissions
- When you join, your browser asks to use the camera and microphone — tap Allow.
- If you blocked it earlier, tap the padlock icon in the address bar, switch camera/mic to Allow, then reload.
- On phones, also check the OS settings (Settings → Apps → your browser → Permissions).
2. Close other apps using the camera
Only one app can use the camera at a time. Close other video apps (WhatsApp, Zoom, the camera app) completely, then rejoin the room.
3. Check the right device is selected
In the call controls, open settings and confirm the correct camera and microphone are chosen — useful on laptops with multiple cameras or when Bluetooth earphones are connected. You can also switch between front and back cameras.
4. Still stuck?
- Refresh the page and rejoin.
- Try a different browser or the installed app.
- Switch to audio-only, or continue via chat — your doctor can still help and prescribe.
If problems persist, message the doctor in the chat thread so the visit isn't wasted, and contact support if you'd like us to look into it.
